The Tree of Life - Painted Tapestry for Private Residence

This is one of a dozen conceived artworks by Siddhartha Das for the residence. The painting conceived for a banquet hall of the building thematically connects it to the bountiful nature represented by the Tree of Life. The motif of the Tree of Life is a mystical concept that suggests the inter-connectedness of all life. The presence of a tree signifies water, growth, and abundance.

 

The Tree of Life is reinterpreted through a fusion of Miniature and Kalamkari traditional Indian paintings of India. The 4m X 3m painting on silk backed by canvas has more than 300 flowers and uses almost 275 gold leaves in 24 karat gold.
