At nine I was given a box camera by
my father, and this was the beginning
of photography for me. At 14 I got my
first SLR, a second hand Pentax ME
super. At 19 I apprenticed with the
Magnum photographer Raghu Rai for
a few months and learnt the joys of
printing my own black & white
bromides. The next few years of my
adult life saw hundreds of photographs
find ther way to prints, some made it
a few shows, others reamined in boxes
