Dhokra / Lost-wax Casting Brass Products


At 20, over three months, a range of 40
brass Dhokra products made by lost-wax
casting were developed by five traditional
craft families from three villages around my father’s hometown in eastern India.

This was my first planned effort to work
with craftspeople. I attempted to work with traditional artisans using familiar folk
motifs to create utilitarian products for an
urban market.
